My next birthday party's at Great Barrier Reef

It would be amazing to snorkel and scuba in the reef with friends and family - especially if someone else is footing the bill for our travel. It is something I've always wanted to do and see so why not make it a special birthday celebration.

Bacon makes it better? True.

Bacon bits, pieces, strips - you name it - it is GREAT! What else can dress up pretty much any dish and make it more flavorful and yummy!

I like to fry a piece of bacon in the pot I'm going to cook green beans it (YUMMERS!). It is one of the most vital ingredients in baked potato soup. Throw some on a burger or sandwich you've got the makings of a heart attack - maybe - but what a way to go :)

I head to Nana's Kitchen for my favorite sandwich

Holy cow! They have this California Club sandwich that will change your world. All the yummy-ness of a club sandwich with melted pepperjack cheese on a panini, can't get much better than that.

The downside to Nana's Kitchen is that they are only open for lunch and they are only a two-person shop so if someone is out or they have to make a delivery than you could be out of luck. They are also kinda pricey. That and while this sandwich tastes amazing it isn't really good for the waistline makes it easier to only go for "special" occasions (like a really bad Wednesday)!

If you are in the area, I highly recommend it!

If I had to, I could go without my television for a month

Well, due to modern technology I can watch any show I'd like on either my cell phone or my computer (without commercials) so I think I'd be best without a television. Besides I should probably cut back on the amount of television I watch anyway.

You know it's bad when you don't walk your dogs on Tuesdays because you don't want to miss "The Biggest Loser"... how sad :(

Someday I'll have a house on the beach

A nice little cottage on the beach in California, Maine, Oregon, or Washington would be splendid. Being able to watch the sun rise (or set) on the ocean is something I thoroughly enjoy. Not to mention the beauty and calmness of the ocean. I can't decide though if I want somewhere that doesn't get warm (or doesn't get very warm) or somewhere like southern California that never gets cool.

Oh well, I guess that's something to decide when (and if) I ever get to the point of having my "ideal home"!

Kermit would make a decent roommate on Sesame St.

Kermit The Frog

I think Kermit would make an excellent roommate. He does karaoke, he's funny, and he's GREEN! What more could you ask for in a roommate?!?!?!?

I wonder if he likes dogs?

I'd pick the Navy

I like to swim and rarely get sea sick if I'm under water. My 2nd choice would be Air Force but I don't think I would be able to fly those planes...

Navy submarines are super strong too, much less painful death to drown than to fall from the sky (at least it seems that way to me)!

By the way - this is my Happy Birthday blog edition - Happy 31st birthday to me!!

Music sounded better on record

We had tons of music on records, 8-tracks and cassettes. Mostly on Sunday mornings my Dad would put on a record or an 8-track and we'd listen to an entire album of the Beatles or something from his childhood / teenage years. I guess that's where my love of music comes from.

I remember having my first record (Madonna) and then the rest as cassettes. CDs weren't as much of a big deal until I was older... well maybe they were to other people who had more money but for us it was all about the record and the cassette.

Thought for the Day

Today's thought of the day is: Can you imagine what mess the world would be in if you were God?

As a matter of fact, I can't.

We, as humans, are selfish and self-centered people who would generally automatically say save me who cares the consequences. If God were human we'd be in a hell of a lot more trouble than we are in now. I certainly don't want that job - mine is stressful enough and I don't hold people's lives in my hands.
