No one to crush on...

For a long time Bobby (the guy on the far left) was my big "My Boys" crush!
Last month, while house / dog sitting I decided to resurrect one of my FAVORITE shows (Thanks Netflix) "My Boys", and up came an episode about being in a slump - and boy could I relate!

Everything in this show centers around how life mimics baseball, so when you aren't dating or crushing on anyone - you are in a slump. Couldn't agree more! My slump has lasted way longer than I'd like to admit but I digress...

What a difference a month makes!

You know, the Morton Salt Girl and I have something in common...

Except she gets salt. I apparently get boys coming out of the woodwork! (Notice I'm not complaining)

It's been so long since I've had a man actually courting me, that I forgot what it was like. I'm a little sad to report that it is not like riding a bike... okay well maybe it's like riding a bike you still remember the concept - but your center of balance has probably changed.

So for now, I'm plugging along. Trying to enjoy the attention. Trying to enjoy 35. Trying to make sure I don't end up holding an umbrella when the next dry spell comes along.

My Television Addiction

Gotta LOVE Sheldon!
Like many I've struggled with addiction or obsession as it were - today I'm going to share my struggles with all of you - yes it is my addition to television. It's gotten so bad that I'm actually chronicling my indulgences through a fun little app called Get Glue.

What's so great about Get Glue? I love it because you can connect with new people that have the same interests as you do and learn about new shows and stuff that you may like. The other thing is stickers.

Yes. I said stickers.

They'll even send them to you for free!

Yep, folks the little girl in me is still alive and well.

And LOVING her stickers!

Are you feeling alright?

As a matter of fact, I am not. But I will be.

This morning, around 2, I experienced my 2nd night of "unpleasantness" that everyone has experienced at some point. Suffice to say, not only was it miserably disgusting it was also exhausting. I didn't sleep a wink! So I stayed home today. Which is code for - slept, spent a lot of time running to the bathroom & working from my phone / iPad. Have I mentioned I hate love technology (nothing like working on the can).

Since I quit trying to drink and gave up the thought of eating anything I'm feeling much better! I spent the rest of my day on the sofa catching up on Grey's Anatomy & Gossip Girl (yes, I'm 33 & love GG - no judgment!). Bleu kept me company on the other sofa...

Although I've spent most of the day running between the bathroom, sofa & bedroom - I feel like I've been strangely productive. All without a laptop, a little dehydration, no food & a happy sleepy sweet pup!

You remind me of Ricki Lake...

It's not because you're fat!!!

Okay - just so we've cleared that up.

Ricki Lake has done hella good on Dancing With the Stars - so much so that I consider it a compliment to be compared to her. Chicky-Ricki has also made some mad money in her day and is staging a comeback.

Yeah... I can think of worse people to be compared to!

Go Ricki!!

Finally back online

Finally back online!

Monday, my cable & internet service provider did an "upgrade" to their operating system and by Tuesday my system wasn't receiving a signal. I called and spoke with the wonderful automated system, who informed me that an "outage" was in my area and they "are working on the problem". So I took a Benadryl and went to bed.
sweet sweet TV

Wednesday morning = still broken. Wednesday evening, I call and find out (after 45 minutes on hold) that I have to wait until Thursday between 5 - 7 for a technician to come and figure out what the problem is. The last time Charter came out for a service call they were 15 minutes early, so I left work at 3:30ish and get halfway home and get a call from the technician saying that he's sitting in front of my house. I'm a good 20 minutes away and think "crap!" I can't handle rescheduling. He says he'll wait...

All this to fix some problem with the wire... on the street... a job that took maybe 30 minutes (including troubleshooting). The whole time, Roscoe (my dog) is in his crate - crying his eyes out.

So after all this, I'm embarrassed to say I went two+ days without cable and internet and almost went crazy! Of course, I didn't eat dinner for two days and now that I have it (cable) back I'm S T A R V I N G! Maybe there's something to this no TV thing...
